Helping Hand

I believe that we are put in this world not to spend our lives focusing on ourselves but to Serve others.

Matthew 20:28 ESV

Even as the Son of Man came not to be served but to serve, and to give his life as a ransom for many.”

Although there are many worthwhile charities that pull at my heartstrings I have chosen 3 to focus on. Through Piece of Heaven I have decided to choose a photo for each month. During that month all the profits from the sale of that photo will go to one of these charites.

Jamaican Mission Program (JMP)
In 2008 my husband and I along with10 other individuals made a trip to Jamaica to do mission work at Westhaven Orphanage which houses approximately77 disabled children. While we were there we realized that we wanted others to get to share in this experience. Out of that visit we formed Jamaican Mission Program. A program where 100 percent of all the money that we raise throughout the year goes directly to the orphanage itself.

Our mission statement:

To provide financial and logistical support to local individuals and groups interested in volunteering and performing mission work in Jamaica.

We have worked, served and played at Westhaven Orphanage for 4 years now. And have another trip planned for January of 2012. If you have questions on the trip or would like to donate to Westhaven Orphanage please contact me.

Greater Richland Area Cancer Elimination (GRACE)

Vision Statement
Maintain a viable organization to aid the greater Richland Area in the following ways:

* Provide services to cancer patients to help fight and cope with the disease.
* Provide funding for research to, someday, eliminate cancer, totally.
* Provide funding to better educate our area about preventative cancer decisions.
* Provide funding to the medical community for diagnosis, treatment, and services.

Feed My Starving Children

Feed My Starving Children is a non-profit Christian organization committed to feeding God’s children hungry in body and spirit. The approach is simple: children and adults hand-pack meals specifically formulated for malnourished children, and we ship the meals to nearly 70 countries around the world.

Each year Hidden Valley Community Church in Dodgeville hosts a mobile packing unit. The next event will be held March 28-30, 2012 with a goal of packaging 250,000 meals. We would love to have your help – it will be an experience that will truly impact your life.
